Our Mission

To provide a safe space for young adults to discover their unique abilities, learn new skills and improve their lives.

Our Vision

To foster local development that leads to international promotion and mutual understanding by facilitating creative arts education and culture initiatives.

Our Background

2006

The UK based arts charity Anno’s Africa was founded by Bee Gilbert and Andrew Birkin in 2006 as an alternative arts educational program for children living in non-formal settlements in Kenya and in cities and towns in northern Malawi.

The charity was set up in memory of their son, Anno Birkin, a young, gifted writer and musician who died in a car crash in 2001, just one month short of his 21st birthday.

2008

ONE FINE DAY e.V. is a Berlin-based sustainable charity founded in 2008 by Marie Steinmann and Tom Tykwer to complement and broaden Anno’s Africa’s engagement. One Fine Day is the main collaborator of Anno’s One Fine Day. Together they offer a wide variety of educational programs. In addition, One Fine Day supports the projects of Anno’s One Fine Day financially by organizing fundraiser events and art auctions in Germany and developing masterclasses for various artistic disciplines.

2018

Anno’s One Fine Day is a community based organization in Kibera, founded in 2018 by Krysteen Savane as an affiliate of Anno’s Africa and One Fine Day. Anno’s One Fine Day has developed an educational program where children and young adults can explore their artistic abilities and art as a tool to better understand themselves and the world they live in.
